Course Objectives

In accordance with the Education Bureau’s curriculum guidelines, our department is dedicated to cultivating students’ fundamental capabilities across the four core skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Through a balanced and engaging language curriculum, we actively foster students’ core competencies, including critical thinking, effective communication, hands-on problem-solving skills, and positive moral character. Our ultimate vision is to create a natural, immersive language environment that builds strong self-confidence, sparks a lifelong passion for English, and achieves the goals of holistic education.

Curriculum Structure

Designed in accordance with the Education Bureau’s guidelines, the curriculum focuses on phonics, oral expression, and reading to cultivate a strong learning interest at lower primary levels. For middle and upper primary levels, emphasis is placed on reading comprehension strategies, grammar application, and genre-specific writing across diverse text types. Classrooms extensively utilize e-learning, group inquiries, and collaborative learning to maximize teacher-student interaction. Education Bureau approved textbooks are complemented by school-developed reading, phonics, and writing supplementary materials to cater to learner diversity, while after-school enhancement classes and remedial tutorial support effectively serve different learning needs.

Feature Activities

Signature campus initiatives focus on building an immersive linguistic environment through daily Echo Zone activities hosted by Native-speaking English Teacher (NET) and English Language Teaching Assistant (ELTA). Strong emphasis is placed on expressive communication and performing arts, training students through English Drama, Puppetry, dedicated Speech Training, Choral Speaking, and the prestigious Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival. To expand speaking opportunities, the campus features regular English Corner sessions for daily oral application. Furthermore, inclusive “Show and Tell” sessions are integrated into the learning experience to ensure every individual student can confidently express themselves in English. Lastly, cutting-edge AI speaking apps and e-platforms are integrated to facilitate smart, personalized interactive speaking practice anytime, while outdoor educational visits and territory-wide competitions are arranged to broaden students' global horizons.

Our students have established a consistent track record of excellence in external competitions, achieving top prizes and outstanding results in the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival, territory-wide English writing competitions, and spelling bees, while our department continues to develop school-based curricula to optimize teaching quality. Our faculty team possesses high academic qualifications and continuous professional training, actively driving research-based curriculum development. Students demonstrate exceptional performance in school-based assessments and internal assessments for secondary school places allocation. With highly fluent oral skills and strong communication confidence, our graduates possess an excellent competitive edge in secondary school interviews, showing outstanding success in securing admission to English as the Medium of Instruction and prestigious secondary schools.
